Project details
Internal alterations to a listed Grade II* building on Oxford High Street for an insurance group. Historically important, the interior was carefully designed around existing architectural features including a hall and mediæval cellar. A modern plate glass shop front was removed and replaced with a more traditional painted shop front and entrance based around remaining architectural details. The building contains an insurance shop on the ground floor with offices above. Air conditioning was successfully integrated into the historic interior. The project was awarded a plaque by the Oxford Preservation Trust.
